Department of Chemistry is a part of       Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy

The area of research of the Section for polymeric materials of the Department of Chemistry encompasses synthesis, characterization and determination of properties of macromolecules and polymeric materials. The following activities of the section can be particularly pointet out:
-synthesis and development of special polymers for application under extreme conditions
-synthesis and development of polymers for water purification
-development of polymeric materials that can be applied as catalysts
-synthesis, development and application of organic silicon polymers (siloxanes)
-synthesis of polymers for selective membranes, as well as for application in medicine, stomatology and pharmacy
-investigation of reactions and procedures for polymer modification
-investigation of properties of polymeric materials: mechanical, rheological, thermal etc; quality control of ion-exchange resins, with licence to give certificates etc.
